Mt Kailash & Lake Mansarovar Helicopter tour via simikot & Hilsa Trek is situated at an elevation of 2910 meters and climbs up to Na-Lagna pass (4330 meters) before reaching the arid Tibetan Plateau. Mount Kailash lies in the southwestern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. At 6,714 m (22,027 ft), Mount Kailas is the highest peak in the Kailas Range of the Himalayas . Mount Kailas is separated from the Great Himalayas chain by a trough that is drained in the northwest by the Sutlej River and in the southeast by the Yarlung Zangbo River (the extreme upper Brahmaputra River ). Mapam Lake , lying just south of Mount Kailas at 4,557 m (14,950 ft), is one of the world's highest lakes.

Mount Kailas , which has religious significance for both Hindus and Tibetan Buddhists, is an important pilgrimage site. For Hindus, the peak is the home of the god Shiva, while Tibetan Buddhists equate the mountain with Mount Sumeru , the cosmic center of the univers

  • Day 01: ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU
    Arrive in Kathmandu. We meet you at the airport & transfer to hotel. Evening we will give you short briefing regarding your tour program overnight at hotel.

     

    Day 02: KATHMANDU SIGHTSEEING & FLY TO NEPALGUNJ
    AM: Sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Budhanilkantha & Kathmandu Durbar Square. After lunch, we will take the flight to Nepalgunj which is around 1 hour flight. Received by our representative in the airport and transfer to hotel overnight at hotel.

     

    Day 03: FLY TO NEPALGUNJ – SIMIKOT (2910 m)
    Fly from Nepalgunj to Simikot which will take around 1 hour. This day is like reserve day for the safe and smooth operation of Helicopter flight so we may quit/skip overnight stay if weather is clear. We will complete all immigration formalities for Nepal side in Simikot. Rest for acclimatization at Sun Valley Resort.

     

    Day 04: SIMIKOT - HILSA – PURANG (Taklakot – 3400 m.)
    Take a helicopter flight from Simikot to Hilsa which will take around 20 minutes.
    Trek form  Hilsa to Sher which will be around 45 minutes and drive around 1:30 minutes  from Sher to Taklakot. After immigration formalities transfer to Purang Guesthouse.

     

    Day 05: ACCLIMATIZATION AT PURANG (Taklakot – 3400 m.)
    Rests day for acclimatization Purang Guesthouse.

     

    Day 06: PURANG - LAKE MANSAROVAR (Chiu Gompa – 4550 m.)
    Wake up early morning and drive to Lake Manasarovar and perform Puja (worship)/snan (holy dip) according to your individual rituals and take lunch then start parikrama of Holy Lake Manasarovar by Jeep. The distance of Mansarovar circumambulation is 72 km. The journey takes 3 hours overnight at Paramartha Guesthouse.

     

    Day 07: LAKE MANSAROVAR TO TARBOCHE AND TREK TO DIRAPHUK (4920 M.).
    Today we will straightly go ahead towards Tarboche (Yama Dwar - the auspicious gateway and the sky burial ground) passing through Darchen (4664 m) by landcrusier which will take 1 hour and the distance is about 40 km and then start Parikrama (trekking circumambulation of Kailash) to Deraphuk Gompa.  We will cover 18 km walk which will take around 5 hours from Yam Dwar to Deraphuk trek.

     

    Day 08: TREK DOLMA-LA – GAURI KUNDA - ZUTULPHUK.
    The tough trekking day crossing highest elevation of 5600 m (Dolma La Pass) which will takes around 8 hours and can see see Gauri Kunda on the way.

     

    Day 09: ZUTULPHUK GOMBA - PURANG (TAKLAKOT) - HILSA
    Finish trek near Darchen then drive back to Purang which will take around 4 hours (Taklakot).  Refresh and drive to Sher then completing immigration formalities for around 1:5 hours walk down to Hilsa which will takes around 45 minutes overnight stay in local lodge.

     

    Day 10 : HILSA - NEPALGUNJ THEN FLIGHT TO KATHMANDU
    Early morning flight to Simikot by helicopter which will be 20 minutes flight and fly to Nepalgunj which will take around 1 hour by fixed wing aircraft and catch connecting flight to Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel.

     

    Day 11: DEPARTURE:
    Transfer to airport for your onward destination.

Important Notes:

 

1. The departure dates mentioned above are arrival date in Kathmandu.

2. Accommodation in Tibet can be in dormitory room OR in a double bedded room depending on places & availability.

3. During the Parikrama (Kora), we provide 1 Yak for every two people or as per Chinese Government rules.

4. 1 Yak handler will be provided for every 3 yaks.

5. Depending on weather condition and group size, we provide fixed wing aircraft in between Nepalgunj and Simikot but in between Hilsa and Simikot there is no alternative other than Helicopter. Helicopter accommodates 4 passengers at a time depending on the group size & baggage load by small helicopter OR carry 18 passengers at a time if MI – 17 Helicopter (big chopper) available.

 

6. We must land at Simikot for going through immigration formalities of Nepal government while going and coming back

 

7. During the Parikrama, if you like you can stay in local Guesthouse but you should pay for it directly otherwise we do camping.

 

8. We can arrange Horse for riding on Kora, but you should let us know at least 2 days in advance. The price of Horse depends on the time and the flow of tourists in the region. If there are more tourists, horses will be expensive because of high demand.

 

9. The weather condition in the mountain (Simikot and Hilsa area) plays the vital role on this journey. So, due to the weather fact the trip might be delayed to depart by one or two days in the beginning. Also, you may get stock in Hilsa because of bad weather while coming back. So, every passenger on this journey is advised to keep some spare days in the yatra. 10. Simikot stay is an optional spare day program with a view to manage safe and smooth operation of flight so it may be possible to remove or station as per the situation of weather and flight condition.

 

11. Extra expenses that may occur due to natural calamities not excluding, landslide, adverse weather conditions, Political sanction, road blockades, or whatsoever, which entails extra nights in hotel or guest houses, additional Vehicles or porterage. All such expenses, will be borne by clients directly or to be collected by us at the end of the tour.

Note: NRI’s nationals have to manage their arrival date before 2/3 days than of our group departure dates according to visa apply days for group visa formalities. Visa apply days in Kathmandu are Monday, Wednesday & Friday so you should arrive in Kathmandu before one day of these days i.e. on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday. And the clients have to bear extra cost for their additional nights stayed in Kathmandu before our original program start. The supplement cost for hotel is INR 2500 Per Person Per Night on twin share room.
